“Among Friends” is a rendering of Sue’s feelings about the events of January 2021 and the aftermath.
“Jina Mahsa Amini’s imaginary tomb” is a painting that depicts the protests in Iran with the hijabs the women have thrown off flying in the wind.
The editors at Coreopsis Journal felt that these two paintings, together, expressed the theme of this issue and how art and artists in many disciplines have reacted to recent events in world politics regarding the fight against fascism in all of its forms.
