Welcome to Poetry Witch!

Annie Finch

https://poetrywitch.mn.co/

Poetry Witch is a private international online community offered free of charge to all women and gender – nonconforming people who love magic and/or poetry. Community members have access to our beautiful Five Directions discussion area and are eligible to join our central learning space, Meter Magic Spiral, where our founder Annie Finch guides a transformative journey through the powers of a different poetic meter each month.

“Meter,” “moon,” “mother,” and “magic” all come from the same root. Based on Annie’s lifetime of experience, Meter Magic Spiral is meter as it is meant to be learned!

To join PWC, if you are a woman or gender-nonconforming, follow the link above and click “Request to Join.”
You will automatically be added to the free Five Directions discussion areas. To join Meter Magic Spiral, just click in the menu at left.
Hope to Spiral with you soon!
Love, Annie

ISARS Conference 2024

Sapienza University of Rome (5-8 June 2024)
Call for papers

Tracing Shamanism: Presence, Absence, Transformations, Possibilities
We invite scholars to reflect on the notion of traces (Ginzburg 2006) in relation to shamanism and other animistic/ecstatic practices. In doing so, we take into account the idea of traces as a methodological tool to explore, map, and analyze materials, narratives, and practices residing “at the intersection of the seen and the unseen, sound and silence, the coming of being into the social and its recession” (Napolitano 2015: 46). Traces are in fact critical knots in a fabric where presence and absence are equally relevant.

Submitting papers and session proposals:
We hope to see many of you in Rome. We now invite you to submit a paper title and abstract (max 250 words) or a session/panel proposal on the main theme of the conference before the 10th of October, 2023. Please send it to the following address: isarsconference2024@gmail.com

The selected papers and sessions will be announced in December 2023. The official language of the conference will be English.
