Pain
Suffering
Confrontation
Poets mask
with beautifully painted verse,
dulling direct pain
Words, sharpened with softness,
pierce the uninitiated

Ripples of Redemption
Watch the swirls.
Hope is returning.
See the waves lap
under the soles of
tired, riled, haters.
Swelling in voice
a community joins
in Hallelujah,
rallying against
the degradation of spirit
A gestalt of individuals
lifted up
with new purpose —
Life above all.
Peace.
Eirene pours from her rhyton,
Love
for those willing to do Her bidding
They walk from Ara Pacis,
casting laurel leaves to the winds.
Olive branches bud with each share,
renewing ripples of redemption.
Sundered souls made whole.

Breathe
Breathe: intake – outflow
slower, deeper, cleansing
now life is tranquil

A Visual Psychophysicist by career, (designing perceptual test using the visual pathway, specifically 3-D), by day, herder of a pack of show Shih Tzu at night. Admin over at High-Coo and The Writers Club on FB and member of numerous other poetry groups.
The nom de plume of Imp was given for playing fast and loose with English language by a PhD Medieval English professor who can drawl out the name into 3 syllables in her native Harlan accent. “Always an Adventure in Dyslexic Hearing and misSpeaks charmed away”, is her favorite quipped response when offering editorial advice.
Always one to play with words, I leave you with this Stephen Fry quote: “Just let the words fly from your lips and your pen. Give them rhythm and depth and height and silliness.”
