She’s A Nightmare
By Strange and The Familiars
Illustrated by Joel Baisilon
Pull back the veil and enter the Strange World, where black cats prowl through your nightmares, ghosts sing in the wind, and women with dark gifts walk among you.
On the surface, everything is as it appears to be, but when you look closer you’ll see the strange and unusual have been gathering, people who sometimes see the world as it truly is, drawn together by forces unseen. At the eye of the storm sit three black cats and who have been sent to walk with humans, and help protect them from their own fears.

She’s a Nightmare
They came in groups of three.
Nightmares always do.
Don’t ask me why, I don’t know.
There’s so much I don’t know.
What I do know is that they came to help us.
They’re here to help fight the uncontrolled fears that coalesce while we sleep,
plaguing us in our waking hours, robbing us of rest.
Nina was the youngest of the three, arguably the most wicked.
I can’t say why she chose me.
Maybe it’s because I have an uphill battle ahead of me, lifting the veil, sharing messages from voices unheard.
Maybe it’s because I was strange enough to see her as she really was.
Whatever the answer, she walked by my side for seven years, a Familiar, a friend, and a Nightmare to the end.
