The Basics

    • Coreopsis: Journal of Myth & Theatre is published twice yearly Spring and Autumn.
    • The deadline for all final submissions is posted with the paper call. Most works are sent back for several rounds of revisions, so make sure to send us your initial query as early as possible.
    • Copyright and reprinting rights remain with the author after publication by default. See our Licensing Guide for more information.
    • We do not currently offer compensation for any published material.
    • We will never charge fees for submissions.
    • Papers for peer review must be submitted in APA Style only. Specifically, APA version 6. If the paper is not in this format, the editors have the right to reject.

Each category has its own criteria. Read the submissions guidelines carefully for the category you submit to. Submissions that do not adhere to the following guidelines will be rejected. We do not accept the following:

    • Reprints
    • Previously published material (artwork published on an artist’s personal blog does not necessarily count)
    • Unsolicited poetry or works of fiction
    • NO GEN AI!

How to Submit Your Work Send us a query using the form provided on the submission page for your category. If your work aligns with the theme of an upcoming issue, we’ll contact for the full submission using the email address you provided. Once we’ve contacted you requesting your full submission, you will be asked to submit your finished work according to the guidelines for the category it was submitted in. We may request revisions, so make sure to send it well in advance of issue deadlines. Social Media Usage Notice Any work you submit that is accepted for publication may be used by our social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc.) to promote your work as well as our publications and the Society for Ritual Arts. Anything we use for this purpose will always be credited back to you and will link to the original appearance in our publication whenever possible. Privacy Statement The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
